Our OCN London Level 2 accredited Dyslexia programme provides a fantastic opportunity for teachers, LSAs, TAs, HLTAs, and anyone in a learning support role, to learn more about structured and efficient support:

Dyslexia

Dyslexia is very common.  It affects 1 in 10 people – you probably know somebody who is Dyslexic.

People with Dyslexia need some specific approaches to their support for learning, and sometimes the barriers to success will easily go ‘under the radar’.

At school or college, these individuals often find it very difficult doing classwork even though educationally it’s not hard for them. This makes it difficult for them to ‘pass exams’ or ‘write up a successful assignment’ because they are judged on the written work.

In this Level 2 session we’ll ensure that teachers and support staff understand the barriers, and that they know what they can do to help.

So if you need help to support individuals who:

** have very poor working memory (making notes, recall)

** have poor organisational skills and time management struggles

** display unruly behaviour, often appearing frustrated, impatient or daydreaming

** procrastinate

The content is suitable for all teaching staff, classroom assistants, LSAs, TAs and adults within other settings.

We’re running this Level 2 course on Zoom across a whole morning, and will include a combination of directed learning, participative activities and Q&A sessions. You’ll also need to complete a workbook for marking, to achieve your Level 2 accreditation.

We’ll provide you with resources to take away and use as a reference point in the future.
