Questioning Techniques – Assessment for Learning

This session will raise awareness of the purpose of questioning and provide strategies for AfL using effective questioning techniques.  Available in 'nibble-sized' sessions:

- 1.5 hour duration
- blocks of 2 per half day or 3 per whole day

Suitable for:
Teachers, NQTs, HLTA, LSAs, TAs

Session content:

  • Understand the difference between AfL and summative assessment
  • Create opportunities for effective questioning
  • Be able to describe the concept of differentiated questioning and how to use it
  • Know how to use a variety of activities to assess and extend learning
