19 November, London
Half day 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Occasionally staff witness minor infringements taking place around school or college, or are required to defuse and re-engage with students who are displaying challenging behaviour in class. Many feel nervous of dealing with these without confrontation. This session gives several approaches to managing and de-escalating situations in a positive manner.
By learning these techniques you can leave behind the worry about how you’re going manage. And when that little ripple of confidence begins to roll up to be a wave, you can usually ride it all the way to the beach (well, perhaps I’m getting carried away, but you know what I mean!).
£75 plus VAT
By the end of the session, you will:
- Recognise the difference between behaviour which you dislike and behaviour which stops learning
- Understand how to manage behaviour to stay safe – “emotional intelligence”
- Acquire confidence to improve own assertive language without coming across as aggressive
- Be aware of own behaviours/body language and how these impact on others
- Become more confident to improve own strategies
“A very useful session that will be valuable in both the workplace and home. Full of logical and flexible techniques for everybody.
