After an inspirational afternoon with college lecturers, here are just a few quick nibble-sized nuggets which they use for starter activities:
“The Fantastic 9” Students are required to work in groups for 5 minutes to decide on the 9 key words for the current subject. Can be used as a transition between activities to embed and move on.
Re-arrange sentences. Show sentences in the wrong order and ask students to re-arrange.
Choose a student to introduce the lesson and read through the Learning Outcomes.
Show a picture and ask how it relates to the current subject (gets the mind into the zone).
