What is PDA?

Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is a complex Autism Spectrum Condition, one that is not recognised by certain healthcare professionals (for EHCP purposes).

Children and young people with PDA need a very different approach to the usual which is successfully adopted with individuals who have autism.

In this session, we will help you to get to the heart of the condition, and know how to reduce anxiety and have a calmer learning space.

Understand the meaning of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

Know how to support a pupil/student with PDA in class and elsewhere.
