A half-day course, designed for NQTs, LSAs, HLTAs and TAs to meet the additional needs of students with behavioural issues, this session outlines causes of behaviour and strategies for managing these in class. The session runs over 2½ or 3 hours and is an ideal programme to run twice in one day at any staff training event.
At the end of the session, delegates should know how to:
- Set and maintain professional boundaries
- Confidently use a number of techniques to support students with ADHD and ODD
- Use body language and non-verbal cues to promote and encourage positive behaviour
- Learn strategies to become more assertive without coming across as aggressive
