Overcoming Social and Emotional Barriers to Learning

This half day course for teachers and support staff  will develop awareness of the social and emotional aspects of learning.  How students feel about themselves, and the experience of learning, can prevent them from engaging in our classrooms.  Many students lack the social skills required to succeed in and out of the classroom. By the end of the session participants will:

  • Have a greater understanding of the social and emotional issues that underpin  learning
  • Have considered how social and emotional issues can be addressed in the classroom
  • Have gained some practical strategies for creating a more emotionally intelligent classroom
